Support Refugees Self Employment Grant Competition Announcement

Request for Applications

Save the Children in Armenia, within the  “Refugee Empowerment and Livelihood Improvement Project” (RELIP) funded by Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration of US State Department announces Small Grants Competition for Syrian refugees in Armenia who are willing to start or expand their business in Yerevan and nearby Provinces (Marzes). 

As a result of the competition up to thirty (30) small grants will be provided to refugees as a support to their employment. Each grant cannot exceed six hundred fifty thousand (650,000) Armenian drams.

Applicant has to ensure at least 5% contribution (32,500 AMD) (cash or in-kind) to the amount requested from the donor organization.

The projects will commence on December 1, 2015. The proposed project should not exceed 6 months and should finish by May 31, 2015, at the latest. The actual start of the project can be planned later than the estimated timeline if the applicant provides an appropriate justification.

Goal of the Competition

The Goal of this competition is to improve the wellbeing of the Syrian refugees in Armenia. 

Participation Criteria 

Syrian refugees  from Yerevan and nearby Marzes who want to establish or intend to expand their business are eligible to apply. Those individuals that have not yet registered their business, the registration costs can include in the detailed expenditure part of the application. A group of united individuals who share the same idea of a business can apply to this call as a group. Funding in this case will be provided depending on the number of individuals in the group.

Applicant should have no previous or current liabilities.  As confirmation, applicant should present free from liabilities official record from Armenian Credit Reporting Agency (for details please see www.acra.am).

 The proposed activities may include, but not be limited to:

•Purchasing equipment ,

•Obtaining row materials,

Visibility 

Small grants should have high visibility and carry out LOGO of Bureau of Population, Refugees and Migration of US State Department and Save the Children.

The applications submitted in hard copies in the sealed envelopes to Save the Children in Armenia should be written in Armenian or English and should contain:
