Position Statement on the Use of Children’s Personal Data in Mass Media

In this statement hereby Save the Children Armenia Country Office presents its position on the dissemination of children’s personal data through Mass Media. Use of personal data in mass media, especially in relation to children in difficult life situations, may have negative effect on children’s psychological well-being, and can cause discrimination towards children.

International Expert Visits Armenia to Support Development of Foster Care System

Save the Children in Armenia works to strengthen the capacity of families to care for their children and supports the development of family-based alternative care options for children who cannot remain with their families.

The adverse impacts of institutionalisation have long been proven by researchers around the world. Children in residential institutions face higher chances of having poor health, physical underdevelopment, motor skill delays, hearing and vision problems, and reduced cognitive and social ability.
