Vanadzor town of Lori Marz, Armenia is located amid a picturesque landscape of hills, mountains and forests, but is also prone to various disaster risks as earthquake and fire. Disaster is a serious disruption of the community, and, to reduce its vulnerability, the community must be equipped with knowledge and skills on disaster risk reduction.

On October 19, 2015 the “Disaster Risk Reduction in Armenia” programme (DIPECHO Phase III) close out event was held at the premises of the RA Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations.

Disasters come suddenly, but once we are prepared for them, the damage caused by the disasters can be reduced to the minimum.

This was the slogan of students of school #38 in Gyumri, Armenia, involved in Child to Child classes aimed at disaster risk reduction (DRR).
