Yerevan, Armenia – On June 1st, 2016 Save the Children hosted Child Advocacy Day “Voices for Children” open air event at Lovers’ Park Yerevan. The goal of the event was to bring policy makers to children and listen from children what they want.

Syrian Woman Who Never Quits

 

Four years ago, Paradzem, age 44, was forced to flee the war in Syria where she lived for more than 22 years. Parandzem, returned to Armenia as a refugee with her husband and two sons, ages 13 and 16. This relocation has changed the family’s lives radically. Notwithstanding integration, social and economic challenges Parandzem’s family never gave up.

In this statement hereby Save the Children Armenia Country Office presents its position on the dissemination of children’s personal data through Mass Media. Use of personal data in mass media, especially in relation to children in difficult life situations, may have negative effect on children’s psychological well-being, and can cause discrimination towards children.

Save the Children Armenia Country Office is updating its roster of Child Protection and Education Experts available in Armenia. The aim is to have structured and updated list of experts for outsourcing short consultancy work in such areas as research, training, policy development, etc. both internally within Armenia as well as within Eurasia region.
